How much lightning is there in your country?
Link to interactive lightning flash density map (number of flashes per square kilometer per year) courtesy Vaisala. Vaisala has been ACLENet's research partner for many years, supplying detailed lightning data for lightning incident reports we investigate.
On the link, you can find the average flash density by hovering over any country. To see more detail, move in with the +/- at top right or with your mouse wheel to see increasingly detailed flash density.
Map color can be changed between blue shades to rainbow of colors by clicking on the scale in the lower right and selecting 'color scale'.
